Rachel + Matthew | NC Farm Wedding

Rachel + Matthew couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spring day out at Meadowcreek Farm in Locust, NC to get married. The sun was shining, the breeze was perfect and the light and scenery made every inch of the place a beautiful backdrop. Rachel is a hair stylist, so she was surrounded by a top notch glam squad, and her Simpson's dress looked like a piece of glass when shining in the light. From their first touch to their last dance with just the two of them, the day was filled with emotions and sweet touches. Rachel's grandmother hand-made many of the quilts laid on the pews at their ceremony. Matthew's father made a touching speech about how proud he is of Matthew not just for marrying Rachel, but for serving his country. Matthew left shortly after their wedding and honeymoon to join the Army. I know they are beyond thrilled to be back together soon. Congratulations to the Huneycutts and best wishes as you take on this journey of life, love, marriage and military. I can't wait to see what the future has in store! xo

Don + Kim | NC Farm Wedding

I met Don + Kim last summer for their wedding consultation, and I knew they were cool when they asked if we could meet up at a brewery instead of the typical meeting spot. We met up at Cabarrus Brewery, talked all things wedding and how they met and hit it off! I was so thrilled when they said they wanted me to photograph their big day. They are both from up North and came to Elon here in NC for college, where they met. Most of their families and friends traveled near and far to be with them on their big day, and they showed them the Southern way to hold a wedding out at The Farm at Brusharbor. It says a lot to have this big of a group travel in to show love to these two as they embark on marriage, and you could feel the love that their family and friends share for them. Congratulations to the Mullers on their perfect day! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for them to celebrate. Enjoy!

Erin + William | Winston-Salem, NC Wedding

A few years ago when I was working at Belk corporate office, I offered headshots for a resource group. Erin worked there as well and had a quick 5 minute headshot session with me. When she got engaged, she reached out asking about wedding photography because she remembered loving her headshot (which is precious, because most people do not love a camera all up in their grill like that). Erin + William married on April 7, 2018 at The Millennium Center in Winston-Salem, and it was such a classic, almost NYC feel for their elegant wedding day. Every detail from the Kate Spade touches to the candlelit ceremony to the snow that fell at their exit (yes, in April!), was absolute perfection. My favorite part was sneaking on top of the venue to capture the city in the background in the rain. I love when couples are down to get a little adventurous on their wedding day. Congratulations to the Bodenhamers! xoxo

Travel // Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Hi all,
Below you'll find a glimpse of some of the breathtaking views and moments my mom and I had on our latest girls getaway to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. First off, you'd think that being a lifestyle photographer that I'd be all about capturing my own personal life moments since I am always capturing other people's and families' special times. But, truthfully, when I get a moment to relax or get away, the last thing I want to do is lug my heavy camera around and worry about it. I knew that for this trip, I needed to bring my camera, because I always wish I had those moments after the fact (especially when the views look like this... I knew I'd need some daydreaming ammo to look at on a rainy day). Secondly, I am by no means a blogger, but we were able to document so much of this trip, that I wanted to share. (Another sidenote – a few of these posted here were shot on my iPhone 6.) We stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort, and it was nothing short of spectacular. It had the most beautiful white sand, teal water private beach, the biggest, nicest pool I'd ever seen and the friendliest staff there to make our stay as fantastic as it was. I highly recommend as a wedding destination or a honeymoon spot (but if you go, you must bring us along as your photogs). So kick back, relax and enjoy these as you daydream about sipping a Passion Fruit Margarita on the beaches of Punta Cana, because I know I am. xoxo

Julie + Troy // Negril, Jamaica Destination Wedding

I have to say, this was the most relaxing weekend of work I'd ever had in my life. Julie approached me months in advance about shooting her destination wedding in Jamaica. I, without hesitation, was all for it, and was excited to be able to do something I'd never done before (shoot a destination wedding) in a place I'd never been (Jamaica). I was even luckier than that when I got to Jamaica and had a chance to meet Troy and Julie and their spectacular families in "real life." These people were a dream to "vacation" with and made Julie and Troy's beachside wedding complete. They were wed at the Couples Swept Away resort in Negril, which was about 1.5 hours from the airport in Montego Bay. I've been to several places in the Carribbean before, but I was truly blown away at the beauty, hospitality and amenities at this resort. The food, drinks, entertainment and staff were beyond any expectations. My mom and sidekick came along with me to assist, and we have been raving about going back to Couples since. This will be a moment in time I never forget, and I'm honored to have been the one to travel with them on this journey literally and figuratively. Cheers to Julie & Troy and their many destinations ahead of them! xoxo

Jenna + Bret // Asheboro, NC Wedding

Before I even get into how gorgeous Jenna + Bret's big day was, I want to start with a fun fact -- these two have been together for 10 years! They met at their local swim club when Jenna was only 14, and the rest is history. I am fascinated by their love story, especially since they managed to go through high school, college, and some of the real world -- all at different times -- together. These two are proof that love really can conquer all, and I am so thrilled to have been able to capture this moment that everyone was waiting for. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Elkins!
