A Bit About Brookelyn

Hey there! I'm Brookelyn. I'm a homegrown Carolina girl, a Tar Heel born & bred, follower of Jesus, a creative, and lover of bright colors and sunset lighting. I started in photography as an 18-year-old who was eager to learn and loved to capture emotions. After 6 years of doing this business on the side, I am now a full-time photographer living out my dream, getting to work with people in their happiest moments and that love deeply. I consider myself so blessed to be able to capture your best moments, and it's not a job I take lightly. Keep on reading to learn a little more about my story...

I'm a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I studied Public Relations & Political Science... not photography, to many people's dismay. I've always loved photographs. As a matter of fact, I spent most of my life being in the pictures. It wasn't until I was gifted my first DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel, as a high school graduation gift that I began being the one behind the lens. I began photographing any and all who volunteered to be in front of my camera, just for fun, and just because I was too stubborn to read my camera manual. After plenty of practice photo shoots under my belt, and a better knowledge of how to use my camera, I got asked to do my first wedding. Luckily it was small & intimate, rustic & Southern, and the scenery was so beautiful that it made my job easy. Since then, I have had the pleasure of capturing hundreds of weddings, seniors and families, traveled internationally for shoots, and most importantly, get to work with inspiring clients that remind me daily of why I love what I do. I am a storyteller, a truth seeker, and a lover of the little moments. I'm happiest when I'm getting to be a part of a bride + groom's fairytale wedding or a senior's milestone graduation. I love capturing laughter. And I especially love the real moments in between the poses & smiles that are true reflections of that particular second in time. From black and white stills to vibrant, playful candids, I hope my photography brightens your day in the same way it brightens mine. xoxo
